The Learning Lamp offers tutoring, preschool, summer camps, credit recovery, online learning, before and after school programs, and child care. The program also offers an affordable math tutor, free after school programs, and organizes The Children's Book Festival of Johnstown.
The Learning Lamp is a nonprofit organization with a mission to engage all children with the support they need to succeed. What started more than 10 years ago as a simple idea to provide children in Johnstown, PA with access to high quality tutoring without the high price tag has grown into a multi-faceted program. The Learning Lamp serves 28,160 youth and adults from 51 school districts and 69 other schools and organizations in 19 Pennsylvania counties. It offers high quality, educationally focused child care and develops relationships with more than 70 school districts to assess needs and find cost-effective ways to better serve students. The Learning Lamp serves its region with public programs that include free after school programs and The Children's Book Festival of Johnstown. The organization is led by Lorraine Nulton, D.Ed, an educational psychologist. The Learning Lamp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and provider.
