GirlGov is a program where participants learn, first hand, about civics, government, philanthropy, community building, social justice, and leadership. The program presents these topics through an intersectional feminist lens.
The WOMEN AND GIRLS FOUNDATION (WGF), which runs GirlGov, is a non-profit organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania engaged in programming and state-wide policy work. The mission of WGF is to achieve equity for self-identified women and girls, now and for generations to come. A past GirlGov participant, Natalia Cruz, said, “It was the first place I ever felt that I did not have to hide any part of myself.”
