Tree Pittsburgh Youth Education & Camps

Tree Pittsburgh Youth Education & Camps includes activities such as STEAM Outside Camp, Weeding Wednesday, and a Mulching Party in Central Lawrenceville. The program involves tree planting and care, educational workshops, school programs, and volunteer programs focused on the urban forest and the natural environment. Tree Pittsburgh Youth Education & Camps also connects with broader efforts like tree distributions, tree planting and maintenance, and land conservation.

Tree Pittsburgh is an environmental non-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen and build community vitality by restoring and protecting the urban forest through tree planting and care, education, advocacy, and land conservation. Tree Pittsburgh teaches learners of all ages through workshops, programs, and hands-on experiences focused on the urban forest and the natural environment. Youth Education & Schools provides environmental educational programming for students, schools, and community groups, with the option to visit Tree Pittsburgh or have Tree Pittsburgh come to them.

Tree Pittsburgh works alongside communities to increase tree canopy and green spaces and engages residents through volunteer programs and tree distributions. It partners with local organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies and focuses on Environmental Justice/Justice40 zones and areas with significant canopy loss. Tree Pittsburgh’s Heritage Nursery grows thousands of hearty and native trees and shrubs that are planted across the county, and its Tree Adoption Program provides trees and shrubs at no cost for residents throughout Allegheny County every fall and spring. Tree Pittsburgh is dedicated to the fair, just, and equitable treatment of all races, cultures, national origins, genders, gender identities, gender expressions, religions, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses, and it stands against racism and hate.
