Camp Waldorf offers summer camp options that include kindergarten camp, elementary summer camp, and the Young Makers Studio: A Hands-On Arts and Science Camp. Campers take part in activities such as cooking, baking, water play, spending time in nature, and making crafts like mosaics, weaving on hand-held looms, shibori techniques, indigo dyeing, and crafting plant-based body butter. Some groups card wool roving, use natural dyes to dye wool, and make projects out of wool, and the Pittsburgh Glass Center is a featured guest one day during each week of camp.

• Schedule: 2026 summer camp runs June 8–18, with week 1 as a 5-day session (June 8–12) and week 2 as a 4-day session (June 15–18; no camp on Friday June 19), with options that include half-day mornings, half-day afternoons, and full-day programs between 8am and 3pm

Kindergarten camp is described as a warm, nurturing, and nourishing experience and is staffed with experienced and trained teachers, led by Ms. Julia and Teacher Ellie, with themes such as “Wooly and Warm” and “Cooking and Baking” and collaboration with felters at the school. Afternoon camp includes a session with Butter Queen founder Carrie McGinnis. Morning snack is provided for both Kindergarten and Elementary camps, full-day Kindergarten and Elementary campers bring a nut-free lunch, and three-year-olds must be fully potty trained to attend.
Camp Waldorf is part of the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh, which was founded in 1993 after a preschool called “The Haven” began in 1991 and summer camps started in 1992. The school is accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), is a member of the Founding Class of the Green and Healthy Schools Academy, is recognized as a Champion School by Let’s Move Pittsburgh, and its Heartwood Annex has achieved Ready designation and Core certification for the Living Building Challenge Core program. The school states that Camp Waldorf is infused with Waldorf philosophy and provides a safe, caring environment that supports children in building a community of friends, exploring their many capacities as individuals, and encouraging interest in the world around them. The leadership team includes Emily Bush (Director of Admissions), Mark Klauss (Director of Business Operations), Kim Wynnyckyj (Director of Strategic Partnerships & Community Engagement), and Mark Staley (Facilities Manager).
