Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania Youth Programs include activities in STEM and STEAM, sports, and arts. The program also offers meals, mentors, preschool, before- and after-school care, summer camp, teen mentoring, and workforce development.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania was founded in 1888. Its mission is to do whatever it takes to help all young people, especially those who need them most, reach their full potential and grow into caring, responsible, and empowered citizens. The organization serves over 10,500 youth annually across Allegheny and Somerset Counties and operates in 11 locations, including stand-alone clubhouses, school-based clubhouses, teen centers, and the TOP Program. Staff hold professional certifications from Boys & Girls Clubs of America, complete Mandated Reporter Training, and full-time staff are trained in First Aid and CPR; all staff and volunteers have FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance and Act 33/34 (Child Abuse and Criminal Record) clearances.
The leadership team includes Chris Watts (President & CEO), Lindsey Ramsey (Chief Operating Officer), Keith Gardner (Chief Financial Officer), and Kara Petrosky (Vice President, Programs), along with additional vice presidents, directors, managers, and board members. A testimonial from President and CEO Chris Watts states, “Our responsibility is to respond to the need. That’s what we’ve always done for our kids, for our communities. That’s what we will continue to do every day.”
