Windwood Day Camp operates as a summer day camp program and uses the pool at Windwood Park, which is shallow on the sides with the deepest part in the middle and has a wading entrance depth described as suitable for small children to learn to swim. The pool was originally a lake until 1940, when it was converted to a chlorinated cement pool and is described as the second largest pool in the North Hills area, filled by several fresh water springs under the pool that are pumped into tanks and then into the pool. Children can sign up for as many as 11 weeks of summer camp during the season.

Windwood Park was founded in 1919, and in 1989 Windwood started a summer day camp for dual income families. Windwood is described as having a rich history as a place where families would socialize and children would learn to swim, and it previously had a membership of nineteen hundred individuals, a swim team of one hundred and sixty swimmers, a strong outdoor tennis program, and many social activities. In 1957 the Wind Family sold Windwood to the Law Family, who retained ownership through 2020, and the facility was purchased by the Spencer and Cruz Families in 2021. Windwood is now in full swing as a summer day camp facility for children ages 4–13 years of age, and companies from surrounding areas such as Wexford, Sewickley, Cranberry Township, Mars, Warrendale, Gibsonia, Hampton, Franklin Park, McCandless, Valencia, and Pittsburgh come to hold parties at Windwood Park.
