About

Keystone Kidspace offers interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and unique classes where kids can explore coding and culinary skills. The program includes spaces such as Curiosity Hall and The WonderBar, which are set up for different types of adventures. Kids can have fun while learning about science, technology, engineering, art, and math through these activities, with exciting and ever-changing experiences and new exhibits always coming.

Keystone Kidspace describes itself as a hands-on, STEAM-focused space for kids and families designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection, providing tools and support while kids bring the imagination. The program highlights that it is a place for kids and families to come as they are, share their ideas, and get messy making them real, including activities that encourage them to push boundaries, break rules, and test limits. It promotes a new way to play with purpose, including chances to test creativity, coding, or culinary skills, and to discover new things about old topics, about themselves, and about the world around them. The organization states that it is proudly rooted in York and focused on building a vibrant, inclusive community where every child can explore, learn, and grow, and notes that members can bring someone new each time they are ready to play with purpose.

Keystone Kidspace is led by Executive Director Jessica Brubaker and Board President Jennifer Tansey. Before launching Keystone Kidspace, Jessica worked as a nonprofit consultant specializing in strategic and business planning and taught courses in nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, and philanthropy at York College. She serves on the board of Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children, was selected as a 2024–25 York Federal Fellow by the White Rose Leadership Institute, led the board of York’s Central Market during its multi-million dollar revitalization effort, and has served on the boards of local nonprofits including the Cultural Alliance and the York JCC. She was appointed to the Pennsylvania Commission for Women by Governor Wolf at the start of his first term and was reappointed twice as Commissioner. Prior to returning to York, Jennifer spent more than a decade as a public relations executive marketing technology start-ups in Boston, Fairfax, Virginia, and Silicon Valley. Keystone Kidspace is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
