Shirley McPhail School of Dance offers classes such as Twinkle Tots, Combo, Creative Jazz Ballet Tap (CJBT), Ballet Tap Jazz (BTJ I & II), ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, drill prep, hip hop, and contemporary, along with adult dance classes in tap, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, and ballroom. The program also offers Cotillion Austin-Style, which includes training in basic etiquette, communication skills, and social dance education, as well as Spring Break half day camps, summer weekly half day camps, and annual recitals.

Shirley McPhail School of Dance has been providing quality dance education to children and adults in Austin since 1970. Its mission is to nurture dancers of all ages in the joy of dance through a quality dance education. The Dancer’s Den boutique, located right across the hallway from the studio, is fully stocked with all required shoes and dance wear and has knowledgeable, caring staff. The program’s offerings include Spring Break half day camps for ages 3–6, summer weekly half day camps for ages 3–10, and annual recitals, including the 56th annual recitals on the weekend of May 29, 30, and 31. Adult students in the program range in age from 18 to 94.
Parent and adult student testimonials describe the studio as having kind, experienced teachers who work with all ages and levels starting at age 2, a friendly atmosphere with a variety of classes, organized and professional recitals, and administrative staff who are professional and friendly.
