Crenshaw Athletic Club Youth Programs is part of a family owned and operated business with almost 75 years in Austin child education and gymnastics and states it has more than seven decades of tradition in Austin. The mission of Crenshaw Palaestra is described as an educational program dedicated to the development and advancement of children through athletics and preschool academics, with a pledge to do their best to develop each child's potential and provide them with a rewarding, enjoyable and positive experience. Highly experienced staff work together to help each individual child grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

The Parent and Tot Toddler Gymnastics class is a 40-minute class with one teacher assisting parent and child. Parent and Tot classes are described as helping parent and child work together in a playful, fun atmosphere to develop hand-eye coordination and body awareness while building strength, agility and flexibility with basic gymnastics skills. Gymnastics classes for younger gymnasts ages 3 to 5 are offered in the mornings and early afternoons for preschool-age children who are ready to learn, move, and explore gymnastics. In these gymnastics classes, children are grouped by ability and rotate through events such as trampoline, floor, tumbling, bars, beam, and rings, and coaches stay with their specialized events so each child receives focused instruction and support.

The After School Care program offers a wide variety of activities including gymnastic classes, arts & crafts, sports activities, and recreational swimming. The Summer All Day Camp includes extended hours, swimming instruction, gymnastics lessons and field trips, and is described as a fast-paced, fun and exciting summer camp program geared toward children 5.5–10 years old. Crenshaw Athletic Club also offers adult fitness, including weight training, cardio equipment, and use of a running track, and describes itself as “A Full Family Fitness Center.” Crenshaw Athletic Club states that it is more than a gym and describes itself as a community of coaches, gymnasts, and families who share a passion for the sport.

Parents describe the after school care as including time and help for homework along with swim and gymnastics options, and one parent notes that it has provided structured and active child care from pre-school through 5th grade. Several parents mention that their children have participated in pre-K in the Palaestra program, after school gymnastics and swimming programs, and Summer All Day Camp, and one parent specifically praises the swim lessons as the first place to get their kids to swim. Testimonials highlight staff who are described as excellent, experienced, friendly, and actively engaged with students, with low turnover and familiar faces year over year. Parents also report that their children have learned skills in exercise, tumbling, stretching, and swimming, and one child is quoted as saying, “I freaking love this place!” after attending a class.
