Austin Scottish Rite Theater Educational Programs and Summer Camps include school shows and summer camps created for kids. The program offers high-quality, affordable school shows and summer camps to Austin area kids, with programming created by experienced professionals and designed to meet the needs of diverse cultural communities.

Austin Scottish Rite Theater is Austin’s oldest theater, erected in 1871. For forty years it was a German opera house, and in 1914 it became the home of the Scottish Rite Masons. In 2004 the Masons created the non-profit theater organization that exists today.

Austin Scottish Rite Theater’s mission is to share and preserve the historic Masonic facility, serving the greater community through high quality performing arts, educational programs, and events. The organization is dedicated to building community through the arts and provides quality shows for all ages, with enriching programming for children. Its programming is purposefully designed to meet the needs of diverse cultural communities in Austin, and it welcomes partnerships with other groups that share its vision to provide artistic and educational opportunity to youth and underserved populations. This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department. Programming strategies include cross-casting, adaptation, new works, and community-based collaboration to meet the needs of all.
