Earth Native Wilderness School Youth Programs

Earth Native Wilderness School Youth Programs offers hands-on activities such as Wilderness Survival, Bushcraft Skills, Wildlife Tracking, and Native Plant Identification and Use. Youth can take part in specific classes and courses including Natural Clay Pottery, Natural Basketry, Traditional Bow and Arrow Making, Flintknapping, Knots & Lashing, Woodcraft Workshop: Spoons, Spatulas & Scoops, Intro to Wildlife Tracking, Survival Skills Intensive, Master Your Knife, Survival Bows, and Wilderness Survival 101. The program also includes Summer Camps and ongoing youth offerings such as Owl Eyes, Wild Life Forest Preschool, Farm & Forest Roots, Wild Outside, Saturday Monthly, Preschool / Kinder Monthly, Wildlife Tracking and Animal Behavior Studies, Ethnobotany – the study of edible, medicinal, and useful plants, Navigation, Awareness, Natural Building, and Sustainable Living.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday 9am–4pm, with classes and courses ranging from one day to between 8 and 9 months in length, including Summer Camps from May through August

Founded in 2011 in Austin, TX, Earth Native Wilderness School offers courses for adults and kids of all ages and is described as an outdoor school for all ages and skill levels in the woods. Its stated mission is to work to help students build lifelong connections to the outdoors through unique, fun, and informative courses that enliven and lead students down a path of discovery and greater self-reliance. Earth Native Wilderness School notes that it is not a licensed child care facility and is not required to be licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission due to the type and scope of its educational programming.
