About

CTX Juniors offers competitive club volleyball. Athletes train and compete in a program that focuses on volleyball as a competitive team sport.

CTX Juniors is heading into its 16th season of providing competitive club volleyball for the Austin and Hays County area and was originally founded as Texas Shock in 2009. Texas Shock was founded by Director Mike Beltz, who remains the Director of CTX Juniors. CTX Juniors is hiring experienced coaches for the 2026–27 club season.

The program’s philosophy centers around “athlete first and winning second.” CTX Juniors states that it is important that all levels of coaches work to develop the whole athlete, with attention to mental and physical development and enjoyment of the experience. The program emphasizes growth in volleyball fundamentals along with confidence, self-worth, character, and discipline. CTX Juniors also emphasizes competitive spirit, sportsmanship, responsibility, and commitment, with the stated goal of preparing athletes to compete at their full potential in volleyball and in life, and promotes being “committed to compete” for success on and off the court.

Recent accomplishments under the Texas Shock name include a 2017 AAU National Championship and a silver medal in the 2019 Girls Junior National Championships. Texas Shock players have been invited to train in the USAV High Performance programs, and many have continued their volleyball careers at the collegiate level.
