About
Outdoor Texas Camps offers several focused outdoor skills camps, including Boys Bow Hunting & Outdoor Skills Camp, Girls Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Skills Camps, Boys Bass Fishing & Fly-Fishing Camps, Boys Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Skills Camps, Boys Saltwater Fishing Camps, and an Advanced Hunting & Outdoor Skills Camp. The program provides the use of high quality and properly maintained firearms, bows, arrows, and fishing gear during these camps. Each week, Outdoor Texas Camps hosts between 16 and 24 campers, depending on the primary outdoor discipline of the camp.
• Schedule: Sessions are organized in week-long formats with 16–24 campers per week, depending on the camp’s main outdoor activity.
Since 2003, Outdoor Texas Camps has stated a commitment to “Building Skills, Character & Memories Outdoors” in youth in a safe, fun environment, and to the belief that understanding, engaging, and enjoying the outdoors is an important part of personal development, especially for youth. All Outdoor Texas Camps instructors are selected based on their knowledge of the subject, their field experience, and their ability to communicate with campers in a positive manner. The program states that its objective is for each camper to go home at the end of the week knowing how to safely and properly handle a firearm, bow, or fishing rod in the field, range, lake, or stream in a way that is accepted by their peers and elders. Outdoor Texas Camps describes its staff as “the Best of the Best,” and notes that all subjects and activities are researched, designed, and executed in a professional manner.
Outdoor Texas Camps reports that it is proud to offer what it calls a unique outdoor skills camp experience in Texas and abroad. The program’s approach includes securing locations and facilities it identifies as the best available for each camp, developing a complete and detailed course of study for each subject and discipline taught, providing high quality and properly maintained firearms, bows, arrows, and fishing gear, and partnering with an experienced staff of outdoor professionals. Camp locations are selected based on the program’s stated goals of safety, fun, and learning, and each location is chosen for having an environment, facilities, and amenities that support that camp’s activities. With 16 to 24 campers per week, the program notes benefits such as increased personal attention and safety, more one-on-one instructional time, and a family environment where new relationships can develop among campers with similar interests. The camp states that all activities are planned to maintain its goals of safety, fun, and learning.
