BASF Planetarium at Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences offers planetarium shows that include tours of the planets and moons of the solar system, constellation identification, and an Astronaut planetarium show. The program also offers Star & Space Story Time, a guided meditation experience called “Sunset Meditation,” and special events such as Spring Astronomy Night, Spring Astronomy Day, Fall Astronomy Day, Fall Astronomy Night & International Observe the Moon Night, and Fright Night at RiverPlace in Freeport Municipal Park. Visitors can also take self-guided tours of Brazosport Museum of Natural Science and the Brazosport Art League gallery, and participate in Brazosport Art League Open Studio and a Watercolor Paint-N-Sip Workshop.

• Schedule: Open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM, with Saturday programs starting at 12:30 PM; Star & Space Story Time takes place Saturdays at 12:30 PM, family-friendly planetarium shows are at 1:00 PM on Saturdays, and the Wednesday Meditation program lasts about 30 minutes.
• Price: Planetarium show tickets are $5 per person for non-members and free for members; 2025–2026 memberships cost $40 for an Individual Membership and $60 for a Family & Friends Membership; Star & Space Story Time, Wednesday Meditation, Fall Astronomy Day, Fright Night at RiverPlace, and Fall Astronomy Night & International Observe the Moon Night are free; Scholastic Bowl registration is $100 per 4-person team; The Secret Garden tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students; Watercolor Paint-N-Sip Workshop registration is $45 and includes supplies, instruction, snacks, and bottled water; center tour reservations are free; Astronaut planetarium show tickets are $5.
Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences was established in 1976 and is owned and operated by the Brazosport Fine Arts Council, a non-profit organization. Its mission is to spark the imaginations of residents of Brazoria County and visitors through art, science, theater, and music programs, and to inspire the community through cultural and educational experiences by providing ways to participate in arts and sciences programs. The Center is described as the cultural home for a community of about 340,000 people, and all actors, directors, painters, teachers, naturalists, astronomers, and archaeologists are volunteers. The Center is described as an authentic community collaboration where ideas are encouraged, talents are nurtured, and opportunities for discovery are provided to every visitor and volunteer.
