About
The Center for the Arts & Sciences offers art classes, workshops, Open Studio and Evening Open Studio, a Mixed Media Workshop, and Figure Drawing sessions. It also offers Center Tour Reservations, Dino Day, a Dinosaur Discoveries and the field of Paleontology program, the Hot Ice crystallization presentation, full dome and planetarium shows such as To Worlds Beyond: Journey Through the Solar System and Constellations: Adventures Connecting Earth & Sky, the Artemis Robotics Innovators program, and Children’s Art Camp. Visitors can reserve free self-guided tours to Brazosport Museum of Natural Science and Brazosport Art League gallery, and visits are free with reserved tickets.

• Schedule: Programs and exhibits generally operate Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM and on Sunday from 2:00 PM–5:00 PM, with additional specific sessions such as weeklong camps and scheduled special events.
• Price: Activities range from free events to paid programs, including examples such as $5.00 planetarium shows, a $40 Instrument Lab, a $100 Mixed Media Workshop, a $150 Artemis Robotics Innovators session, and Children’s Art Camp sessions priced at $75 for Brazosport Art League members and $100 for non-members.
The Center for the Arts & Sciences was established in 1976 and is owned and operated by the Brazosport Fine Arts Council, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It serves as the cultural home for a community of approximately 340,000 people and supports partner groups and programs such as Brazosport Art League, Brazosport Center Stages community theater, Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, BASF Planetarium, and Brazosport Symphony Orchestra. Most activities are volunteer-driven with a modest-size staff, and every actor, director, painter, teacher, naturalist, astronomer, and archaeologist is a volunteer. The Brazosport chapter of the American Chemical Society presents the Hot Ice event in the museum. The Center’s mission is to spark the imaginations of residents of Brazoria County and visitors through high-quality and enriching art, science, theater, and music programs, and it states a commitment to inspiring the community through cultural and educational experiences by providing opportunities to participate in its arts and sciences programs.
