All activities are volunteer-driven with a modest-size staff, and every actor, director, painter, teacher, naturalist, astronomer and archaeologist is a volunteer. The Center describes itself as an authentic community collaboration where ideas are encouraged, talents are nurtured and opportunities for discovery are provided to every visitor and volunteer, and it invites visitors to reserve free tickets online. BAL members may bring their own supplies to Open Studio sessions, guests may attend up to three sessions before joining Brazosport Art League with a $50 annual membership, and participants ages 21 and older are welcome to bring adult beverages. The Center’s mission is to spark the imaginations of residents of Brazoria County and visitors through art, science, theater and music programs and to inspire the community through cultural and educational experiences by providing chances to participate in its arts and sciences programs.
