About
Wild Adventures Camp includes hands-on activities that feature Zoo tours, conservation fun, and Keeper Chats. Campers also spend time in kid-friendly play zones as part of the camp experience. The program takes place within the broader Wild Adventures Camp offerings at the Dallas Zoo.
Founded in 1888, the Dallas Zoo is the oldest and largest zoo in Texas and is open 364 days a year. The 106-acre zoo provides a home for more than 2,000 animals representing over 406 species. The Dallas Zoo’s mission is “Engaging People & Saving Wildlife.” As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) for 35 years, the zoo operates as a City of Dallas-owned but privately managed institution and is described as a successful public-private partnership. The Zoo For All program offers participants in Texas’s SNAP and WIC a Family-level membership at a reduced price. The leadership team includes Kari Streiber, Vice President, Marketing & Communications.
