Camp Fire First Texas has been an inclusive, innovative leader in youth development since 1914. Its programs include camping, licensed afterschool enrichment, teen services, environmental education, and school readiness, in addition to professional development for early educators. Camp Fire uses a research-based and measurable framework for thriving that is woven into every Camp Fire experience. Rooted in Nature is a free, family-friendly event that invites guests of all ages to experience the wonder of nature at Camp Fire Camp El Tesoro. The organization is involved in the community by partnering with Go Beyond Grades and with Texas Parks and Wildlife to expand outdoor learning at Camp Fire Camp El Tesoro. Camp Fire states that children and youth find a safe, fun and inclusive place where they form lasting relationships, develop a sense of belonging and make positive contributions to the lives of their families and their community, and that its playful, inclusive, affordable, and powerful out-of-class experiences connect young people to the outdoors, to others, and to themselves. It also states that it provides youth and educators with a space where they feel like they truly belong and that its programs enable people to develop essential skills that have long-term benefits and make a positive social impact in the world.
