About
Frisco School of Music and Performing Arts offers piano, guitar, electric bass, ukulele, voice, violin, and drum lessons, along with art classes, dance classes, and musical theatre classes. Students can take classes such as Intro to Art, Drawing & Painting, Drawing, Sketching, Cartooning, Around the World Fairytale Princess Ballet Ages 3-6, and Singing and Broadway Stage Dance. The program also offers Summer Performing Arts Day Camps and music camps.

Frisco School of Music and Performing Arts opened in the fall of 2000 and has taught over 12,000 students since opening. It is described as Frisco’s original music and arts school, with more students taking lessons there than anywhere else in the city, and is the largest music and performing arts school in the city. The school has over 45 teachers, all with university training and/or professional performance experience, and Chris Duncan is the Director/Owner with over 35 years of teaching and consulting experience and several books as a bestselling author on Amazon. The school’s full-time mission is teaching music, art, and musical theatre.
The campus includes two buildings with over 15,000 square feet and 33 teaching studios, including a state-of-the-art performance hall with professional lighting, sound, and video, home of the FriscoPAC. Facilities include 28 private and group teaching studios, six group studios that convert into a 175-seat performance hall, a comfortable waiting room area with Wi-Fi, a professional registration area, and observation windows on every door. Lesson studios are stocked with amps, stereos, full acoustic drum kits, keyboards, pianos, microphones, staging, mirrors, and professional art supplies.
Frisco School of Music and Performing Arts is an Official Safety Plan Music School with a Family Safety Plan that includes glass windows on lesson rooms, full-time office staff, extensive background checks of all teachers and staff, security cameras in all rooms, and an open-door policy for parents. The school features sound-resistant studios and observation windows, and teachers have an iPad in every studio to use learning apps and sample video examples. It offers a Practice Club & Student Rewards Program and more than 24 yearly events in music, art, dance, and musical theatre. Beginning group music lab classes include a Group Student Performance Week for parents several times per year, private lesson students can participate in a Yearly Judged Music Show, Center Stage Music Shows, a Yearly Theory Test, and Musicfest, and students perform in three yearly Musical Theatre Variety Shows in the performing arts auditorium on campus at FriscoPAC with professional lighting, sound, and video. The school has been voted “Best in Education” by Frisco Style Magazine and is described as the only school of its kind that received this recognition, and it is described as Frisco’s #1 choice for music, dance, and musical theatre and Texas’s #1 choice for music and performing arts lessons.
