One River School – Frisco Art Classes

One River School – Frisco Art Classes offers painting, drawing, digital art, and mixed media classes. The program also includes Open Studio sessions where students work on projects of their choosing with instructor guidance. Classes take place in warm, inclusive studios described as relaxed, no-pressure spaces for all skill levels, and mentors are real working artists who provide personal attention and feedback using a curriculum-based program with rotating projects and a new medium every month.

• Schedule: Classes run year-round with weekday, weeknight, and weekend options; adult art classes meet two hours per week.

One River School describes its mission as a creative community where members come to develop their skills, connect with other makers, and build a creative practice. All materials, tools, and software are included from day one with the monthly class subscription, and students are told to just bring themselves, except for photography, video, and iPad classes and camps where each student brings their own camera or iPad. The program includes student exhibitions and events throughout the year, monthly Open Studio sessions, members-only Teen Night and Kids Night Out events, exclusive multi-class and family discounts, and early access to camps and workshops. Classes are small, with personalized attention, and mentors provide expert feedback and facilitate friendly group critique; classes often include a day of material exploration and a related prompt for a finished artwork.
