YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Youth Programs and Camps includes resident and day camps, youth sports, Adventure Guides, and after school programs. YMCA Camp Grady Spruce is described as a premier resident camp within YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Youth Programs and Camps. The organization notes over 20 day camps and 16 state-of-the-art YMCA locations across Metro Dallas. At YMCA Camp Grady Spruce, cabin capacity on the Ray Bean side has been expanded from 144 to 256 beds with eight brand-new cabins and a renovated Dining Hall, and a new Welcome Center is described as being on the horizon.
Parent and participant testimonials include a YMCA parent, Mayela, who shared that during a divorce and transition to one income, the YMCA provided a scholarship for her son to play baseball, which she said made everything feel a little bit easier. Another testimonial from Shirley, a Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program participant, states that because of the YMCA, she discovered her blood pressure was in the danger zone, had her medication modified, and believes her outcome could have been very different, and she thanks YMCA staff for caring.
