YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Youth Programs and Camps includes activities such as Youth Sports, Adventure Guides, After School, Resident and Day Camps, Teen Summer Day Camp, and Youth Fitness Programs. It has over 135 years of history serving the community and offers over 250 programs that focus on mind, body, and spirit. The organization serves almost 200,000 people annually through programs, outreach, and events across Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Palo Pinto, and Rockwall counties. Its facilities include 16 state-of-the-art YMCA locations across Metro Dallas, as well as YMCA Camp Grady Spruce as a resident camp and more than 20 day camps, and some facilities include an Esports Gaming Lab.
One parent, Mayela, shared that during a divorce and transition to one income, the YMCA provided a scholarship so her son could play baseball. Another participant, Shirley, from the Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program, reported that YMCA staff alerted her to blood pressure in the danger zone, which led to a change in her medication.
