Dad’s Club Aquatics was founded in 1948 as a youth center, with its first pool opening in 1953, and it is described as Houston’s most historic swimming and aquatics facility. It is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2023 and is a membership-based, non-profit organization. The facility includes a 50-meter long-course pool, a 33-yard pool, a 25-yard family pool, and a 25-yard outdoor community pool with an L-shaped design and a zero-depth entry set away from seven swim lanes.

Dad’s Club Aquatics states that it is nationally recognized for its highly successful Dad’s Club Swim Team, which is a member of USA Swimming. The organization describes its programming as providing a path for every swimmer, including all-ages lessons, developmental training, and specialty fitness, instructional and certification programs. It lists core values that include believing that swimming teaches lessons for life, taking pride in watching swimmers of every level and age grow in ability, self-confidence and resilience, and, through the sport of swimming and a family-friendly atmosphere, celebrating individual accomplishment and promoting personal responsibility to teach life lessons that benefit the individual and community beyond the pool’s edge.
