Summer Programs for Irving scholars include Summer Camp for students currently in grades K–4 (those entering grades 1–5 for the 2026–27 school year), including those on the Great Hearts waitlist, and Kinder Readiness for new, incoming kindergarteners. In 2026, Week 1 (June 1–5) is themed “Seafaring for the Daring,” which includes mermaids, pirates, oceanography, and more, and on the last day, crews board their hand-built ships and have a battle on the high seas. Week 2 (June 8–12) is “Tinkerers and Thinkers: Art, science, and invention collide,” with activities such as STEM rollercoasters, coding, terrariums, and action painting.
For Summer Camp, families are asked to pack one morning snack, one afternoon snack, and lunch, and scholars follow a dress code that includes specific types of shirts, plain logo-free uniform-style or athletic shorts in khaki, black, or navy, optional uniform pants, and plain logo-free tennis shoes, with no shoes that make noise, light up, or are open-toed. Kinder Readiness students wear the Great Hearts school uniform as outlined in the family handbook, bring a snack and a backpack, and must be at least 4 years old and fully potty-trained. Great Hearts Irving offers a tuition-free, K–12 classical liberal arts education rooted in the literary and philosophical tradition of the West, and as a tuition-free public charter school, it is dedicated to offering an academically rigorous classical liberal arts experience to its students.
