About

Laity Lodge Youth Camp offers high-energy recreation, wild adventures, peaceful renewal, and meaningful community for campers. Daily activities include a short devotional time each morning, and in the evenings campers take part in a campwide gathering called Roundup, followed by Cabin Time in their cabins. Camp experiences can also include a rodeo and a dance in the river.

• Ages: 7–16 years old
• Schedule: Daily morning devotional time and nightly Roundup followed by Cabin Time

Laity Lodge Youth Camp is a Christian youth camp that welcomes campers and staff from a wide variety of faith perspectives. The camp’s overall camper-to-counselor ratio is approximately four to one. Morning devotional time includes peace and quiet, an introduced topic or activity, scripture to consider, and discussion led by staff. Roundup includes singing, laughing, participation, and a talk given by leadership staff, and Cabin Time afterward focuses on sharing about life, faith, struggles, concerns, and confusions. Camp programs include Singing Hills for campers in grades 2–5 and Echo Valley for campers in grades 6–10. Campers are recommended to bring a trunk no taller than 15 inches and no longer than 34 inches, which is preferred over suitcases because it is generally larger and helps keep personal items consolidated and easy to find.

Every summer, Laity Lodge Youth Camp states that it encourages campers to be themselves, develop deep friendships with their peers and counselors, explore faith in Christ, and encounter God. The camp’s stated vision is to create a place to belong, be yourself, and encounter God, with a focus on relationships, less structure, and a message of unconditional love. The mission includes welcoming young people into uncommon acceptance and unconditional love and transforming the way they experience the rest of their lives.

Laity Lodge Youth Camp was established in 1966 by the H. E. Butt Foundation. It is part of the H. E. Butt Foundation Camp, which also includes Laity Lodge, Laity Lodge Family Camp, Outdoor School, and Community Engagement. During summer, if someone needs to speak with staff during business hours, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., they may call the LLYC Office number, and on weekends Sugar Shack staff monitor the phones from 9 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
