Naranjo Museum Camps

Naranjo Museum Camps include Spring Discovery Camp, Spring Mini Camps, and A Night at the Museum - Date Night Childcare at the Museum. The camps take place at the Naranjo Museum of Natural History, which features a Strata wall exhibit, Ordovician Period fossil cases and diorama, a dig site exhibit with tools and equipment used to dig up Mary Ann Hadrosaur in Montana, and a Strata wall showing different layers of stratum represented throughout the earth’s history. The museum notes that it has one of the best collections of Precambrian fossils on display and is Lufkin’s only Natural History Museum. The museum also offers a Dancing with Dinos event and participates in The Passport program with Lufkin Cultural Sites. Leadership for the museum includes Erin Gentry, Executive Director; Esmeralda Roberts, Museum Manager; Veronica Byrd, Education Director; and Dr. Neal Naranjo, CEO & Founder. The museum states that it serves as a local resource for teaching students about fossils and that it needs support to help further its mission of educating East Texas.
