Fort Aquatics offers swim programs for babies to school age children, including group, private, and semi private swimming lessons. The program also offers swim classes, gym classes, gymnastics programs, birthday parties at Fort Gymnastics, day care, after school care, early childhood education, summer camp, winter camp, and pick up from local schools.

Fort Aquatics operates in a 5200 square foot private, temperature controlled indoor swim facility with a pool kept around 90 degrees and a state of the art UV water filtration system that completely changes over all of the pool water every 90 minutes in a clean, safe, child-friendly environment. The program uses an adaptive training methodology and development to help children learn swimming, with a focus on developing a love for swimming and removing the fear of water, and offers better teacher to student ratios than most places.
Fort Aquatics is an affiliate business of Fort Montessori Academy and is owned by Uma and Arun, with Uma Alagappan serving as Co-Owner and Assistant Aquatic Director. Fort Montessori opened in June 2010, and Fort Aquatics was established in June 2017, with management experience of over 10 years running Fort Montessori, Fort Aquatics, and Fort Gymnastics and over 15 years of experience working with children. The vision for Fort Aquatics, Fort Gymnastics, and Fort Montessori is to offer an a la carte set of services including swim lessons, day care, after school care, pick up from local schools, summer camp, winter camp, and gym lessons, with the same quality of service across all three businesses, and the teaching philosophy in swimming and gymnastics is “Believe and Inspire.”
The team at Fort Aquatics consists of dedicated, friendly, well-trained instructors who have all undergone thorough background checks. Fort picks up children from elementary schools in and around Murphy and takes them to swim and gym classes as part of the program.
Parent feedback includes reports of children progressing from disliking swim lessons to swimming on their own, moving from being terrified of water to swimming to retrieve toys from the bottom of the pool in a few weeks, and advancing through multiple swim levels while attending up to four days a week. Parents also describe the atmosphere as calm and inviting, note that the facility uses a UV filter with a lot less chlorine, and mention a caring, positive culture from trainers and owners.
