Fort Montessori Academy provides Montessori education for ages 18 months to 3 years with a focus on building attention span and fine motor skills. It also offers Montessori education for ages 3 years to 6 years that develops sensorial, language, mathematics, practical life, and cultural education skills. The program includes great after school programs with fun-filled entertainment and education-based enrichment activities and offers pick up from neighborhood schools. It is described as the only facility to provide swimming and gymnastics as extracurricular activities in-house and offers in-house swim and gym school lessons. The program runs fun-filled camps during Summer, Winter, Spring, and Thanksgiving breaks and is a family-run business with no other branches, with the owners available onsite on a day-to-day basis.
The Director at Fort Montessori Academy is Montessori certified with prior teaching experience, and all Pre-School Lead teachers are Montessori certified. All toddler and transition teachers are Montessori trained, and most assistants are certified or Montessori trained, and all staff are background checked. Ms. Ayesha Shariff is an American Montessori certified teacher with a bachelor’s degree in education and psychology. Ms. Asha Reji is an American Montessori certified teacher with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Ms. Awo Amorin has a Bachelor of Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from the University of Science and Technology in Ghana and is a Montessori trained teacher. Ms. Tajinder Kalkat is a Montessori trained teacher and has a bachelor’s degree in Arts. The Owner and Director obtained Director Certification from the State of Texas (DFPS) in 2010 and is a Certified Montessori Teacher. Arun Meyyappan is the Owner and Director of Operations at Fort Montessori Academy.
