Illusion Dance Center

Illusion Dance Center offers dance education through dance classes that include a recreational program, a competition team and competitive company, Hip Hop Companies, a Pro Style Class, a Drill Team Prep Clinic, and a Dance Team Prep Clinic. The program offers a step-by-step syllabus for dance education in accordance with each student’s physical, mental, and emotional development, and advancement through the curriculum is related more to the student’s progress than to age. Class size limits are enforced, and a variety of classes are available so that students are placed according to their needs, age, and level.

Illusion Dance Center states that it provides wholesome, age-appropriate dance instruction and education and strives to offer cutting-edge, correct instruction for students of all levels and ages in a positive and safe environment. The program states that dance classes are about more than just teaching dance, and that students will learn how to respect and have pride in themselves, their classmates, and their instructors in a positive environment with structure and encouragement. The studio states that dance is good for the body, soul, and for mental health and development, and that this is encouraged within the classroom.

Instructors at Illusion Dance Center specialize in the form and style of dance they are teaching and regularly meet for training and continuing education, and the staff continues to train and learn to provide the classroom experience described by the studio. The director is available to parents and students and takes pride in providing dance instruction in an atmosphere and community she has cultivated with her staff.

The studios are equipped with floating, cushioned marley dance floors, which the program states help reduce the risk of injuries, and the facility includes large observation windows, a spacious lobby, ample parking, and convenient class times. The program offers convenient office hours during the day and in the evenings, and free trial classes are offered for all classes so dancers can find the class options that fit them.

Illusion Dance Center offers a “Hassle Free” Recital Program that includes tickets for students, all rehearsal fees, a free t-shirt, free major costume alterations, and more for a low, affordable fee, and all students participate in a Spring Recital each year. Costume fees are based on the costume chosen for each class, with no flat costume fees.

The competitive company is open to dancers in Kindergarten and up, and all dancers are welcome to audition at the beginning of each season with no invitation required. Competitive Hip Hop Companies attend events such as Monsters Dance. The recreational program teaches the fundamentals of dance with an emphasis on fun.

Illusion Dance Center offers a Pro Style Class for dancers ages 13 and up on Thursday evenings from 6:45–8:00 PM, and a Pro Style Class for dancers ages 9–12 on Monday evenings, with the 9–12 class time changing to Monday 8:00–9:00 PM starting January 12. The 13+ Pro Style Class on Thursday evenings from 6:45–8:00 PM does not perform in the spring recital and allows drop-ins.

Illusion Dance Center has served the community and children of New Braunfels for 10 years and is located just outside of The Gruene Historical District.
