About

Connect Camps is a one-week, day camp that includes indoor artistic skills and outdoor sports skills. The camp includes non-stop fun, engaging activities, daily faith-based lessons, and a team-based environment. Christ-centered content is presented in engaging and interactive formats, and campers go home with questions and topics to continue conversation about what they learned at camp.

• Schedule: One-week, day camp with five days of camp; registration includes five days of camp Monday to Thursday and a half day on Friday.

Over 125 years of camp experience goes into training energetic, committed, and vetted college-aged staff, and counselors are thoroughly vetted and trained. The program uses secure check-in and check-out procedures and states that it provides an environment that is both physically and emotionally safe. Connect Camps uses play to connect kids to Jesus through people who love Jesus, and on the last day of camp, the entire family gets to experience the final session together. Campers participate in a variety of activities and team-based activities to encourage a sense of belonging, and there are relationships between campers and local church volunteers to help churches connect with families all year long.

Campers need to bring a lunch, unless it is provided by the community, and a water bottle, and snacks are included. Campers do not need a backpack, and the program asks that campers do not bring electronics, stuffed animals, or toys. Families are asked to put the camper’s name somewhere visible on the lunch box or bag, not to pack any peanuts, to send comfy clothes such as gym shorts and a T-shirt that can get messy, and to send closed-toed shoes. The program also asks that plenty of sunscreen be applied, as some activities and recreation take place outdoors.

Connect Camps states that its mission is to create remarkable experiences that help churches meet new people. The organization reports that its team has put on over a thousand weeks of camp across the country to serve well over 355,000 campers and more than 2,000 churches and communities. The leadership and support team includes roles such as President Ken Thomas, Vice President Gabe Norris, and multiple coordinators, specialists, apprentices, residents, and interns in areas including marketing, logistics, supply chain, finance, host development, creative, staff recruiting, and staff development.

Partnered with a local church in the community, campers have the opportunity to connect with crew members, and Connect Camps states that it has a passion for connecting churches with their local community to make the name of Jesus known. The program states that with Connect Camps, churches can build relationships and trust with unchurched families and bring a camp experience to their area to get connected with more people in their community. One parent shared that their child was at an age where he did not want to go to church and that camp helped him get excited again, and another parent said it was evident that each team member has a strong passion for Jesus and for spreading His love and thanked the program for the commitment made in selecting and training each team member.
