Waterloo Swimming offers a wide range of water programs, including a swimming school with group swim lessons, private and semi-private swim lessons, Swim Fit, swim fitness, and a competitive year round swim team. The program also offers Waterloo Babies, Waterloo Toddlers, Stroke School, Summer League Prep, Kid Fitness, Special Needs classes, Blitz classes, summer blitzes, summer camps, Waterloo Otters, a swim team, a Mermaid class, Water Polo Summer Camp, Waterloo Aerobics Class, adult swim programs, Masters swimming, triathlon training, and a Special Olympics Team.

• Schedule: Weekly group classes meet once a week on the day and time chosen by the family; free evaluations for Swim Lessons and Swim Fitness are offered on Saturdays between 12:30pm and 1:30pm, and free tryouts for the competitive swim team are offered every Saturday with swimmers expected at the pool at 12:30pm and ready to swim by 12:45pm.
Waterloo Swim School, LLC was created in Fall 2009, and Waterloo Swimming started in 2010 offering two 6-week lesson sessions only during the summer. Waterloo Swimming & Waterloo Swim Center opened in June 2016, Waterloo Central opened in March 2021, and a third location opened in Round Rock in September 2024. Waterloo celebrates 15 years of serving Central Texas in June 2025. The Waterloo Wherever program was created in June 2020, the Mermaid class was first offered in Summer 2018, Water Polo Summer Camp was created in June 2023, Waterloo Aerobics Class launched in February 2025, and the Special Olympics Team launched in June 2025.
All coaches and instructors have completed Waterloo Swim School’s Instructor Training Certification Program, which covers the program’s philosophy, teaching style, and practical application, and instructors are certified in Community First Aid and CPR. The owner and director is Mike Varozza, and Gwyn Varozza is described as the Queen of All Things Out of the Water. For lesson and fitness evaluations, swimmers are asked to bring a swimsuit and towel, with goggles and a swim cap optional, and for USA Swimming Team tryouts, swimmers are asked to bring a swimsuit and towel, with goggles and a swim cap optional; families are also asked to bring their family schedule to discuss class days and times.
Waterloo Swimming has many satisfied clients and has received a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Waterloo Swimming broke into the Top 5 in Texas Age Group Swimming in 2022, achieved its first Jr National swimmer in Fall 2015, had its first Winter Juniors relay champion in December 2024, won its first Sectionals Team Title in March 2025, and set a Winter Juniors Meet Record and had its first individual champion in December 2025. Mike Varozza’s swimming career includes being an NCAA Swimming All-American, a US Swimming 1988 Olympic Trials Qualifier, and a current US Masters Swimming National and World Record Holder, and he was part of relay teams with Jim Sauer, Ande Rasmussen, and David Guthrie that broke multiple 400 Free, 400 Medley, and 200 Medley relay World Record times in long course and short course meters. One parent, Mari A., reports that over four years all three of her children have participated at Waterloo, with experiences in Swim Fit and early-level classes such as purple, and describes consistent teacher dedication across their different levels.
