About
Northstar Montessori at Spring Cypress offers infant care for children 6 weeks to 1 year, toddler activities for ages 1 to 2, twos programming for ages 2 to 3, preschool for ages 3 to 4, and pre-kindergarten for ages 4 to 5. Each day includes a lesson, two work periods, outdoor time, and child-led discovery. The program uses practical life skills, hands-on learning, creative play, experiential learning, and outdoor learning.
Programs
- Infants (6 wks–1 yr) — 6 weeks to 1 year · Safe and nurturing environment supporting early exploration and connection; focus areas include physical and emotional security, sensory exploration, and early language development.
- Toddlers (1–2) — 1 to 2 years · Play-based learning and social interactions with focus areas including social interaction, language development, motor coordination, and exploratory play.
- Twos (2–3) — 2 to 3 years · Transitional program with autonomy and curiosity-driven learning; structured work supports cognitive, social, emotional growth, resilience, and problem-solving.
- Preschool (3–4) — 3 to 4 years · Primary program with structured lessons and inquiry-based exploration; focus areas include early literacy and numeracy, creative exploration, problem-solving, and social collaboration.
- Pre-Kindergarten (4–5) — 4 to 5 years · Primary age-group program preparing children for kindergarten with literacy, numeracy, social skills, critical thinking, and self-directed learning.
- Before/After-School (5–12) — 5 to 12 years

About the provider
Natalie Johnson has over 25 years of experience in the education industry and has been part of the Northstar Preschools family for nearly two years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. The curriculum includes monthly giving projects, and the program uses Transparent Classroom, keypad check-ins, on-site cameras, first aid and CPR certified staff, chef-prepared meals, flexible scheduling, monthly family events, teacher discounts, and open communication with families.
Open communication with families; flexible scheduling and tuition assistance are offered. Children have outdoor time and outdoor learning. The program emphasizes child-led discovery, experiential learning, practical life skills, hands-on learning, creative play, and a genuine Montessori curriculum.
