Study Dorm – Tutoring and Test Prep offers math tutoring, homework help, reading and writing tutoring, and subject-specific support including physics, algebra, and geometry. The program also provides test preparation for SAT, AP courses, STAAR, ISEE, TSI, ASVAB, GMAT, and the TEAS test, as well as a Math, Reading & SAT Prep Summer Camp and SAT Test Prep in a small group format.

Group session hours are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with class size for group sessions limited to 7 students. Summer Camp runs with one tutor for up to 7 students, private tutoring is one tutor to one student, and SAT Test Prep small groups have one tutor for up to 10 students. The program offers customized one-on-one tutoring plans tailored to specific academic needs and goals and does not require long-term contracts or monthly minimums.
Study Dorm – Tutoring and Test Prep has been tutoring Sugar Land and Houston students for over 14 years, and tutors have been teaching students for over 14 years and have successfully guided more than 700 students to stronger math skills, improved test scores, and academic confidence. Tutors are familiar with the Fort Bend and Houston ISD curriculum, and the program has over a decade of experience teaching FBISD and HISD students. Study Dorm is locally owned and was born in Sugar Land and is described as Sugar Land’s most trusted math tutoring center.
The founder and lead math tutor, Shahin (“Sha”), holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering and served as a teaching assistant at the University of New York. Her mission is to help students of all ages build confidence and competence through compassionate and expert instruction. Study Dorm developed a math curriculum for a Culinary Institute, helped 107 nurses pass the TEAS test, helped 93 students get into the Army by preparing them for the ASVAB, helped 162 professionals get into top MBA programs around the nation by preparing them for the GMAT, and helped over 2,500 high school students get into a top university and maximum scholarships by preparing them for the SAT. Study Dorm works alongside FBISD to provide SAT Test Prep for high school students, and tutors take 100% responsibility of students’ grades.
Parent and student feedback includes comments that Shahin “knows her material and is very patient” and recommendations for GMAT, GRE, and math support. One adult student shared that Study Dorm “made a huge difference” in a College Algebra class at HCC, noting that Shahin was “incredibly patient” and able to explain concepts in different ways.
