Study Dorm – Tutoring and Test Prep offers math tutoring, homework help, reading and writing tutoring, SAT test prep, AP course support, physics tutoring, and subject-specific help in areas such as Algebra, Geometry, College Algebra, and TSI. The program also provides preparation for standardized tests including STAAR, ISEE, GMAT, GRE, ASVAB, and SAT, as well as a Summer Camp option.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Group and private tutoring have a flexible schedule, with group tutoring available Tuesday–Thursday from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM; group and private tutoring are offered in 4-hour blocks.
• Price: Group tutoring starts at $100 for 4 hours, private tutoring starts at $200 for 4 hours, and SAT Test Prep in a small group format is $800.
Study Dorm – Tutoring and Test Prep offers group tutoring with one tutor for up to seven students, private tutoring with one tutor and one student, and SAT test prep in a small group format with one tutor and up to ten students. The program uses personalized tutoring and does not use a one-size-fits-all approach, relies heavily on student and parent feedback, and offers flexible scheduling with no long-term contracts or monthly minimums. Tutors are familiar with the Fort Bend ISD and Houston ISD curriculum, are well-versed with FBISD and HISD curriculum, and know what types of questions appear on the GMAT, SAT, ISEE, and other tests.
Shahin (“Sha”) is the founder and lead math tutor, holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering, and served as a teaching assistant at the University of New York. Tutors at Study Dorm – Tutoring and Test Prep have over 14 years of tutoring experience, have been teaching FBISD and HISD students for over a decade, and have been tutoring Sugar Land and Houston students for over 14 years. Shahin’s mission is to help students of all ages build confidence and competence through compassionate and expert instruction.
The tutors at Study Dorm – Tutoring and Test Prep have successfully guided more than 700 students to stronger math skills, improved test scores, and academic confidence. They have developed a math curriculum for a Culinary Institute, helped 107 nurses pass the TEAS test, helped 93 students prepare for the ASVAB, helped 162 professionals prepare for the GMAT, and helped over 2,500 high school students prepare for the SAT. Study Dorm works alongside FBISD to provide SAT test prep for high school students.
Parent and student feedback includes comments that Shahin knows her material, is very patient, and is recommended for GMAT, GRE, or any math tutoring.
