EOAC serves McLennan, Bosque, Freestone, Limestone, Hill, Falls, Johnson, Ellis, and Navarro counties. The organization’s mission statement is “Meeting urgent needs today while building stability for tomorrow.” EOAC’s history includes leadership by Oscar “Doc” DuCongé, who is remembered by many as Waco’s first Black mayor, and by Kanisha, EOAC’s Director of Community Programs. EOAC staff also created the EOAC Employee-Funded Scholarship to invest directly in education, and EOAC hosts an annual Box Car event, which has included a 5th Annual Box Car event.
