About

Rocky River Ranch is an all-girls camp where campers take part in campfires, songs, campfire stories, and traditions such as the Miss RRR Contest. Campers can watch a movie under the stars at the open-air Corral Theatre, perform on stage, and model in the fashion show. Activities at Rocky River Ranch also include learning to shoot a bow and arrow, practicing synchronized swimming, and sailing on Canyon Lake.

• Ages: 5–14 years old

Rocky River Ranch has been committed to inspiring independence in girls and young women since 1953. Its mission is to create an engaging environment where girls can discover their strengths, learn leadership skills and try something new every day while making life-long friendships. The ranch's brand, the Triple R, stands for respect for self, respect for others and respect for nature, and its leadership program encourages girls to be strong and to become strong women. Rocky River Ranch offers Great Escapes for women during the rest of the year, Mother-Daughter weekends, and event rentals with lodging for up to 135 guests, and it hosts family reunions, church retreats, teacher work days, company picnics, Girl Scout groups, and more. Campers today sing the same songs, chant the same cheers, tell the same campfire stories and laugh at the same punch lines as campers did 60 years ago, including traditions such as a half-a-century-long rivalry between camp teams Cowpokes and Wranglers.

Former campers describe performing on stage, modeling in the fashion show, learning to shoot a bow and arrow, doing synchronized swimming, and writing a “Snoopy” column for the camp newspaper. Testimonials also mention learning to sail on Canyon Lake, singing camp songs such as “I love the mountains, I love the rolling hills,” “Good Morning to You,” “Boom Boom, Ain’t it Great to be Crazy?” and “I Wish I Were a Little Bar of Soap,” and returning later as counselors, CITs, or “big sisters.” Many former campers refer to Rocky River Ranch as a second home, a safe haven, and a place where they felt accepted, and several note that they now share the same songs and memories with their own children.
