Youth & Family Education Programs are part of the William King Museum of Art’s youth education department. The department continues delivery of its programs directly to schools across the region and continues the museum’s summer Art Camp.
The Youth & Family Education Programs are led by Kelsie Christian, Director of Youth & Family Education. William King Museum of Art’s mission is to provide arts education, exhibit fine art, and preserve the region’s cultural heritage. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and will maintain this accreditation. William King Museum of Art is home to the Betsy K. White Cultural Heritage Research Archive, which includes detailed records of the region’s decorative arts legacy, and the museum has two cultural heritage galleries that reflect this research. William King Museum of Art is described as a dynamic gallery and gathering space in the arts and cultural community of Abingdon, Virginia.
