Camp Griffin offers weekly and sometimes multiple weekly field trips, including educational field trips. Campers travel into Washington, DC to visit art and history museums, go to Baltimore for science museums, visit farmers markets, and spend time in parks for picnics and physical activities. The program also includes sports, other on-site activities, specialty camps on site, day trip adventures, and a pool day every Friday.

Camp Griffin takes place at Westminster School, which was established in 1962. The program is connected with Westminster School’s mission to provide a superior elementary and middle-school education with goals that include a disciplined and well-informed mind, strength of character, dedication to learning, generosity of spirit, and joy in the possibilities of life. Camp Griffin is led by Jori Schreiner, Admissions Director. Camp Griffin is the proud recipient of “Northern Virginia’s Best Summer Camps” awards from 2019 to 2025.
Parents describe Camp Griffin as having a huge variety of camps for all ages that change every week, with sports, activities, and field trips with friends, teachers, and coaches from Westminster, as well as chances to make new friends. One parent notes that their daughter has attended two summers, enjoys frequent educational field trips to museums, farmers markets, and parks, and goes to the pool each Friday.
