Fairfax Ice Arena Skating School and Camps

Fairfax Ice Arena Skating School and Camps offers public ice skating, group ice skating classes, ice skating lessons, figure skating lesson and training programs, ice skating camps, summer skating camps, and ISI Summer Skating Camp. The program also offers freestyle sessions, public skate sessions, Holiday Public Skate sessions, hockey clinic, the Fairfax Hockey League adult ice hockey league, and ice skating parties, as well as ice rink rental for fundraising events and for film and media use.

• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Year-round classes and activities, with public skating offered on specific days and times between Monday and Sunday, and summer skating camps and ISI Summer Skating Camp held on set weeks and afternoons

Summer Skating Camp Week 2 runs July 13–17 from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and ISI Summer Skating Camp runs August 17–21 from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Public skating regular hours from June 20 to August 23 include afternoon and evening sessions on weekdays and extended afternoon and evening sessions on weekends, with some schedule changes on July 4 and July 5. Public skate admission and skate rental are purchased in person at the box office.

Fairfax Ice Arena Skating School and Camps is part of a rink that opened its doors on March 17, 1973, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023. The rink was founded by Eileen Weisiger, and her son, the late Edwin Berry Weisiger, spearheaded the Fairfax Hockey League, described as the first multi-level adult hockey league in Virginia, formed about 40 years ago. The rink continues to have first-rate, world renowned coaches and competitive skaters and is the home ice rink of the Skating Club of Northern Virginia and the adult Fairfax Hockey League, both formed in 1975.
