Fencing Sports Academy

Fencing Sports Academy offers fencing through in-person and virtual lessons, group and private lessons, spring and summer camps, after school programs, school programs, and adult fencing classes. The program also hosts competitions and can organize fencing activities for birthdays. Participants can train in foil, épée, and sabre, and can purchase equipment from the on-site fencing gear store.

• Schedule: Spring and summer camp options with full days from 9 AM–3 PM and half days from 9 AM–Noon or Noon–3 PM

Fencing Sports Academy was established in 2011 and is described as a premier foil, épée, and sabre fencing club and the home of champions. It is ranked as one of the best fencing clubs in the United States and reports a record of more than 482 national-level medals. The club is open 7 days a week and offers free trials.

FSA’s mission is to teach the true spirit of fencing in a supportive environment, with personalized programs that lay a foundation for success on local, national, and international levels. Programs are available for beginners, intermediate, advanced, and elite national fencers, with tailored drills and exercises. The club also offers adult fencing classes for adults and veterans 40+.

FSA’s coaching staff includes world-class coaches and Olympic medalists who are certified to coach foil, épée, and sabre. Coaches have trained at world-renowned and nationally recognized institutions, are certified to coach all three weapons, and are trained as referees. The leadership team includes Alexis Machado Cordoves, Domingo Gomez, Russ Wilson, Alex Wood, Moataz Abdelkarem, Jean Carlos DeLa Cruz, Jose Alfonso, Javier Tucker Alfonso, and Annis Hechavarria.

Fencing Sports Academy is a fencing club in the Washington, DC metro area and offers after school programs, inviting school directors to set up meetings to bring these programs to their students. The on-site store allows families to shop for all fencing equipment needs.
