About

George Mason University Child Development Center offers on-site childcare and a play-based preschool program. Prospective families can book a tour to meet the center director and care team and learn about the curriculum, daily activities, and classroom environment. Visits typically take 30 minutes, with additional time for questions, and visits provided include up to two families.

The program’s mission states that its holistic approach focuses on nurturing children’s intellectual growth and social, emotional, and physical well-being. Preschool enrollment is open for children ages 3 and 4. The center offers year-round programs, Mason Kids Club, and Mason Kids Club Summer Camp for young children of Mason families and surrounding communities. Through a wide range of extracurricular activities and partnerships with Mason organizations, the center provides preschool, Pre-K summer camps, and school holiday programs.

The leadership team includes Shira Kulok, Director; Antonia Therrassant, Assistant Director; and Karen Prodo, Fiscal & Administrative Assistant. Classroom lead teachers include Ophelia Boateng for the Pandas classroom, Erin Fulton for the Froggies classroom, Bimala Gyawali for the Monkeys classroom, Tonya Trumpet for the Teddies classroom, Dorothea Tyree for the Elephants classroom, and Mariana Estrada Zepeda for the Dinosaurs classroom. The center also has a Kitchen Manager, Supamas Viwaldechakul.

George Mason University Child Development Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is described as a nationally accredited award-winning early childhood education provider with award-winning programs. Free parking is available in front of the center.
