Xpressions Dance Center offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, praise dance, and cheerleading. Dancers can choose from both recreational classes and options to join a competitive dance team. The program includes many different genres of dance for dancers of all ages.

• Schedule: Studio hours Monday–Friday from 4:45pm to the end of classes

Xpressions Dance Center features three dance rooms inside a custom designed facility, each with full wall mirrors, professional sprung floors, and a double barre. The lobby includes a waiting area, bathroom, reception desk, and a storefront with Xpressions swag such as water bottles, dance bags, and studio apparel, along with space for dancers to hang coats and store dance bags while in class. The studio was founded by moms and describes its environment as family focused and as a place of love, encouragement, support, and respect. Season 11 registration is live, and Summer 2025 registration is available.

Owner and Business Director Amanda Sullivan graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management with a concentration in Human Resources, earned a Master of Arts in Special Education from James Madison University, and has over 20 years of experience in financial and accounting management. She has participated in various capacities on several non-profit boards. Instructor Kristina Winn has trained for over 20 years in ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, musical theatre, and hip hop, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Baldwin University in Marketing and Communications with a minor in Film Theory, has taught ballet, lyrical, and contemporary classes and competition choreography for the past 10 years, has worked as a backstage assistant for local and college productions, and works as a curriculum specialist for Penny Prima. Instructor Caroline Kempfer-Ware has been dancing since age two, focuses on ballet, is trained in modern, contemporary, jazz, and character dance, has attended summer intensives including The Rock School, The Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and The Joffrey Ballet School, trained as a trainee at The Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, competed in the Youth American Grand Prix in Indiana, and is working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education. Instructor Coretta Wyatt began dancing at age seven, learned ballet, tap, and hip hop, joined a church dance team and performed solo, became a cheer captain in high school, and has volunteered in her community and performed in town parades. Instructor Candice Beck began training in ballet, tap, and jazz at J’Mars Dance World, became an assistant dance instructor in high school, trained in classical ballet at Staunton Academy of Ballet and several studios in Charlottesville, was accepted into the Virginia Intermont College dance program and performed with The Virginia Intermont Performing Dance Company for four years, earned a degree in Business Administration from Virginia Intermont while studying ballet, jazz, and modern, has danced in and choreographed for local musical theater groups, teaches special education in Augusta County, and is studying for a Master’s Degree in Teaching. Instructor James Brown has 15 years of experience in choreography and creative directing for all ages and professional dance performances, built a social media brand name (ANi) based on Jersey Club, is a YouTuber, has taught across the East Coast including NYC, NJ, PA, Atlanta, and Miami, toured with Chris Brown’s “Heartbreak On A Full Moon” and “Indigo” tours and Justin Bieber’s “Justice” Tour, and appeared on America’s Best Dance Crew and the Michael Jackson Tribute to Joe Jackson. Xpressions Dance Center LLC dates back to 2015. The mission of Xpressions Dance Center states that it is committed to providing dancers of all ages an encouraging environment in which they can grow and excel in their dance education and is dedicated to inspiring students to appreciate learning, living, and creating, with this inspiration building individual self-esteem and confidence and a team that has respect for each other and themselves.
