Roughstock Jiu Jitsu offers Kids Gi JiuJitsu, Kids No-Gi JiuJitsu, Adult Gi JiuJitsu, Adult No-Gi JiuJitsu, and Open Mat sessions. In Gi JiuJitsu classes, participants wear a traditional uniform that includes a jacket, pants, and a belt that shows rank. In No-Gi JiuJitsu classes, kids and adults train in athletic clothing such as rash guards, shorts, and spats, without the traditional Gi.
• Schedule: Open Mat is an informal training session where practitioners of all levels gather to roll, practice techniques, and exchange knowledge in a less structured setting than a traditional class.
Roughstock Jiu Jitsu was founded on the principle of giving students the chance to train jujitsu at a high level, with an emphasis on understanding the reasoning behind techniques in a fun and supportive environment. The program states that it is a place where students can feel comfortable being themselves, communicate openly with coaches and fellow students, and participate without judgment. Roughstock Jiu Jitsu is a proud affiliate of Team Passos. The program welcomes visitors from other academies, encourages cross-training, and invites families to connect with its affiliate headquarters and partner academies in the community. Open Mat is open to anyone from the gym, and visitors from other academies are welcome to attend.
