Lynchburg Parks & Recreation Youth Programs offers Youth Basketball, the Daddy Daughter Dance, and The Secret Garden Tea Party. Youth Basketball runs from November 10, 2025, through March 7, 2026. The program is part of Lynchburg Parks and Recreation, which has a leadership team that includes Director Wyatt Woody and several managers and supervisors such as Support Services Manager John Ramsey, Recreation Services Manager David Hackney, Park Services Manager Howard Covey, Parks Maintenance Supervisor Brian Glass, Facilities Supervisor Vic Williams, Athletics & Aquatics Supervisor Thomas Moore, Community Recreation Supervisor Hannah Rathje, Neighborhood Centers Supervisor Shaunta Jefferson, Administrative Supervisor Tamara Parker, and Volunteer Coordinator Jamey Love. The department has received recognition with “Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Wins Two VRPS Awards.” Its mission statement describes a vision of a city where everyone can enjoy parks, trails, and recreation programs without worrying about costs, accessibility, or transportation, and where the community focuses on well-being, the natural environment, and positivity. Unique features connected to the broader department include the Daddy Daughter Dance, The Secret Garden Tea Party, the Miller Park Pool Project with key milestones and estimated timelines, an email newsletter signup, and the Creekside Trail Restoration Project.
