Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center Youth Programs include swim lessons, competitive swimming, a Masters Swim Program, aquatic fitness classes, group fitness, personal and group training, youth sports programs, adult sports, The EDGE – Team Building, massage therapy, health and wellness coaching, and summer camps. The programs take place in a facility that features two pools, a whirlpool, family locker rooms, a full gymnasium, cardio, aerobic and strength studios, racquetball courts, and a child care center. The Center provides a broad range of year-round recreational, educational, social and cultural programs and activities.
• Schedule: Current hours are Monday–Thursday 5:00am–10:00pm, Friday 5:00am–8:00pm, Saturday 8:00am–8:00pm, and Sunday 8:00am–6:00pm.
Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center opened in September 1999 and remains one of the largest aquatic and fitness centers in the region. It operates under an innovative joint partnership between George Mason University, Prince William County and the City of Manassas, with George Mason University responsible for all aspects of daily administration and operation. The Center’s mission is to promote healthy lifestyles through quality educational and recreational programs in an environment that motivates individuals to meet their goals. The Center has been heralded as a national model for such endeavors and is an equal opportunity and affirmative action facility committed to equal access without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, sex, or age. Specific mandates about priority of use and resident status arrangements are contained in the Center’s governing Tripartite agreement executed by George Mason University, Prince William County and the City of Manassas.
