Art in Motion Dance offers dance classes, dance camps, and multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, including demonstrations, recitals, and full production shows. Students can take classes in ballet, tap, jazz, cheer, tumbling, lyrical, musical theater, hip hop, and modern/contemporary, and the program also offers adult dance classes. Art in Motion Dance uses the Joy of Dance children’s syllabus created by Marilyn Baird and integrates the Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary and Primary programs in its syllabus.

Art in Motion Dance describes itself as Northern Virginia’s premier recreational dance company and a non-competitive studio that offers a wide variety of dance styles for all ages and skill levels. The staff are described as professionally trained, well-trained, and dedicated instructors who bring a high level of expertise, energy, and care to each class. Art in Motion Dance’s stated goal is to help students develop their physical, creative, imaginative, emotional, and intellectual capacities, and to provide a positive, supportive, safe, and nurturing environment where dancers can grow, express themselves, and build confidence. The program is proud to serve the community by offering yearly free shows and is described as thrilled to be part of the community.
The leadership team includes Miss Allie and parent Maria Kelly. One parent, Maria Kelly, says, “Allie is the best dance teacher. Kids love her and she has the best, positive energy and warm personality around. Kids have fun learning and becoming dancers at a young age! I would recommend her to anyone and so happy for her on her new company! Ps- Her adult classes are great as well!”
