Summer@Potomac builds on The Potomac School mission, which emphasizes intellectual development, love of learning, and strength of character as complementary and essential educational goals, and embraces the values of courage, integrity, humility, perseverance, and respect. The programs are designed to invigorate and challenge campers, helping them continue to grow into confident, compassionate, and curious individuals, with a stated commitment to respecting and celebrating diversity.

Community involvement includes Counselor Apprentices visiting Women Giving Back to sort clothing donations for women and children in need, and Service Learning Camp activities such as visiting a local food pantry and learning about community gardens. One camp parent noted the diversity of programs and campus facilities, along with quality activities and solid organization, and another described it as a “super fun summer camp” with many options, a pool, and a campus with “too many good things to list.”
