School of Rock Midlothian offers performance-based music education that includes private music lessons, group music lessons, and group rehearsals. Students take part in band practices, songwriting and songwriting exercises, lyrical workshops, recording original songs, and live performances. Every few months, Performance Program students play at local music venues in front of a live audience, and Songwriting students perform or band together to record their original songs.

Founded as a single school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1998, School of Rock has grown to more than 385 locations in 16 different countries and serves more than 65,000 students worldwide.
