About

Reston Camps offers time for campers to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, and play games. Campers visit Reston Association (RA) pools, where they are given a swim test by an RA Lifeguard on the first day of every session, and life jackets are provided for those who need them. Campers attending Junior Day Camp, Sportsters, Day Camp, Adventure Camp, and CITs are required to wear an official camp t-shirt each day.

• Schedule: Camp registration for Summer 2026 opens on Jan. 26 at 8:30 a.m. for RA Members, and registration opens for everyone on Feb. 2 at 8:30 a.m.

Founded in 1973, Reston Camps is the longest-operating camp program in the community. Safety and supervision at the program exceed the minimum standards for child day centers required by the Virginia Department of Social Services. All staff receive extensive training in positive behavior support, child development, and child abuse training, along with mandatory certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED, a criminal background check, and a Central Registry check. The leadership team includes Katherine Caffrey, Recreation Manager; Mac Cummins, Chief Executive Officer; Peter Lusk, Chief Operating Officer; Ed Vroom, Chief Financial Officer; Cameron Adams, Director of Covenants Administration; Cara O’Donnell, Director of Communications & Community Engagement; Laura Kowalski, Director of Recreation; Mike McNamara, Director of Maintenance & Natural Resources; and Anthony Champ, General Counsel. The Friends of Reston supports Reston Association with funding for scholarships for youth programs, including camp. Camp forms are collected through CampDoc software, there is a waiting list process for sold-out camp sessions, and refunds or cancellations require written notice and include non-refundable deposits. The mission of Reston Camps is to help children grow physically, emotionally, and socially with an emphasis on respect for themselves and others.
