Girls on the Run Piedmont offers activities that include running, physical activity, interactive games, arts and crafts, and storytelling. The program includes fun and interactive lessons that use these activities to build social, emotional and physical skills while encouraging healthy habits for life. Camp GOTR for grades 3–5 uses interactive games, physical activities, arts and crafts, and storytelling in a fun, collaborative environment.

Girls on the Run Piedmont has served over 2000 girls since 2013. Girls on the Run Piedmont serves Culpeper, Fauquier, Fredericksburg City, Madison, Rappahannock, Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties. Girls on the Run offers programs that are designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength and make meaningful connections with others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions in each Girls on the Run program. The Girls on the Run grades 3–5 program includes volunteer coaches who facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development and concludes with the team completing a 5K together. The Heart & Sole grades 6–8 program considers the whole person—body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection—and offers an inclusive place of belonging where girls feel supported and inspired to explore their emotions, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health; all program participants complete a 5K at the end of the season. Camp GOTR for grades 3–5 provides an environment where girls build friendships through interactive games, physical activities, arts and crafts, and storytelling. The organization states that Girls on the Run unleashes the confidence and inner strength participants need to boldly pursue their dreams. Girls on the Run reports that more than 2.25 million lives have been transformed in North America since 1996. The mission of Girls on the Run is to offer fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. A participant named Grace shared, “Girls on the Run showed me I am a good person and I can do great things if I keep trying!”
