Camp Follow the Leader is a special summer day camp where children take part in art, crafts, sports, music, games, and special events. The program also includes fine motor control groups, gross motor control groups, and social skills groups. Each camper is paired with a volunteer “buddy” for the week and is organized into smaller peer groups based on age and skill level.
• Ages: 6–10 years old
• Schedule: It is held for one week in July.
• Price: $75 registration Scholarships available.
Camp Follow the Leader is a summer day camp for children ages 6–10 with disabilities and/or physical, sensory, emotional, social and/or developmental challenges. In the past the camp has had campers with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration issues, behavioral issues, physical challenges, brain injury, and cerebral palsy. The camp staff includes occupational, physical, and speech therapists, teachers, volunteers, and counselors trained to provide a supportive, engaging, and rewarding experience for all. Valley Health Pediatric Therapy offers the camp in partnership with Bethel Lutheran Church, with funding provided by the Winchester Medical Center Foundation.
