About

Coding with Kids offers classes and camps where students work on coding projects, including Scratch games and web applications. The program also runs online international coding competitions in Python and Scratch that meet weekly for 1 hour.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Camps are offered during school breaks for 5 days; live online camps run up to 3 hours per day, and in-person camps are available as half-day or full-day options. Year-round live online group classes meet once a week for 1 hour 15 minutes in ongoing 8-week billing cycles, and private live online classes meet once a week for 50 minutes in ongoing 8-week billing cycles. In-person enrichment classes run during the school year in 6- or 10-week sessions, once a week for 1 or 1.5 hours.
• Price: Live online camps cost $269 for 5 days; in-person half-day camps start at $299 and full-day camps start at $495. Group classes cost $138 for 4 weeks with an 8-week billing cycle and have a discounted annual subscription option, and private classes cost $250 for 4 weeks with an 8-week billing cycle and a discounted annual subscription option. Enrichment classes start at $139 for a 6-week session and $239 for a 10-week session.

Coding with Kids has been operating for 12.4 years and has been providing afterschool enrichment coding classes at over 600 partner schools since 2014. The program has taught more than 66,000 students, including over 22,000 online students, and works with over 900 school partners. Coding with Kids has been teaching AP Computer Science courses at the Bear Creek School in Redmond, WA since 2015 and teaches coding classes to all middle school grades at Seattle Country Day School. Programs have been designed by Computer Science experts, and Coding with Kids provides highly qualified teachers with academic and industry experience for AP Computer Science courses at the Bear Creek School.

All Coding with Kids curriculum is designed to grow with students and focuses on teaching coding skills and introducing different programming languages appropriate for each student’s age and experience level. Kids and teens are introduced to coding concepts as they build projects, and the curriculum allows students to advance at their own pace with the stated goal that no one is left in the dust and no one is bored by slow progress. The organization states that the quality of their classes and the satisfaction of their students is always their top consideration.

Coding with Kids offers a comprehensive coding curriculum for ages 5–18 through its Coder's Ladder® ongoing core programming academy and Coder's Pathways® short-term enrichment courses or camps, which can also be taken as private classes. The program uses a project-focused approach without theory-only lectures and an individualized approach that allows students to advance at their own pace. Online international coding competitions in Python and Scratch provide global participant ranking for ages 8–14, and support hours for online Coder's Ladder® classes in the America/Los_Angeles time zone run Monday–Thursday 3:30 PM–7:00 PM, Friday 4:00 PM–5:15 PM, and Saturday–Sunday 9:00 AM–12:15 PM.

Parenting OC Magazine has voted Coding with Kids Best Coding Class and Best Tech Camp, and NW Kids Magazine has voted it Best STEM Camp. Coding with Kids has also been featured on NBC's The TODAY Show and reports a customer reviews rating of 4.6 out of 5.
