Coding with Kids offers classes and camps where students work on coding projects, including Scratch games and web applications. The program also runs online international coding competitions in Python and Scratch that meet weekly for 1 hour.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Camps are offered during school breaks for 5 days; live online camps run up to 3 hours per day, and in-person camps are available as half-day or full-day options. Coding with Kids has been operating for 12.4 years and has been providing afterschool enrichment coding classes at over 600 partner schools since 2014. The program has taught more than 66,000 students, including over 22,000 online students, and works with over 900 school partners. Coding with Kids has been teaching AP Computer Science courses at the Bear Creek School in Redmond, WA since 2015 and teaches coding classes to all middle school grades at Seattle Country Day School. Programs have been designed by Computer Science experts, and Coding with Kids provides highly qualified teachers with academic and industry experience for AP Computer Science courses at the Bear Creek School.
All Coding with Kids curriculum is designed to grow with students and focuses on teaching coding skills and introducing different programming languages appropriate for each student’s age and experience level. Kids and teens are introduced to coding concepts as they build projects, and the curriculum allows students to advance at their own pace with the stated goal that no one is left in the dust and no one is bored by slow progress.
